![]() ![]() So when you do any of the timestretch applications you might have done in AA1 or 2, The Radius timestretch algo is basically built in behind the scenes. Copyu protection is a simple registration code and online activation (which can obviously be repeated etc). Superb stuff, and I don't believe that either Sound Forge or Wavelab offer anything similar (on a Phase or Pan basis).īy the way, regarding price point, Audition has a street price that is approx HALF that of Wavelab. Notice how it's possible to select a precise region - in this case an area of sound on the left channel - and edit the level (or apply effects, etc). ![]() You can even import/export the frequency spectrum as a bitmap and edit it using Adobe Photoshop! Editing can be done using marquee tool, freeform lasoo, effects paintbrush, spot healing brush, or using the automatic phase correction tool, etc. Regarding the frequency spectrum editing feature, from Audition 3 there is now the possiblity to display Pan or Phase Spectrums as well as the standard frequency. I'm interested to know how Wavelbab's metering is better? The dongle is a minor nuisance, but in Wavelab it is much less intrusive than in Cubase and Nuendo, it makes far fewer authorization calls, not so much of a problem really. This is one reason why I haven't upgrade to Cubase 4.1 yet and now I have the L7 suite I may not do so at all. I totally agree with the comments about Steinberg as a company though, their attitude towards customer service really sucks badly. With some good 3rd party plugins it makes a great environment for editing and pre mastering (in conjunction with the bundled CD Architect). But to me, Wavelab has more functionality for mastering, it's plugins are geared towards this and also for surround or DVD-A it is really awesome.Īnd I still like Soundforge best for it's accessibility and easy editing/loop making. ![]() Of course, this is just my opinion, but my friend who has a Mac still keeps his older P4 2.4 Ghz computer solely to use Wavelab, which he says beats the pants off Peak and the other Mac only solutions.Īudition is ahead on multi track recording features definately and is a solid program for AUDIO. Only dedicated mastering DAWS like SaDie and Sonic Solutions and Sequoia have metering that is as good as Wavelab. Wavelab has the best metering bar none in it's price range. The metering in Wavelab is better than Audition, IMHO, have you used the full version of Wavelab in version 5 or 6 ? It has amazing, accurate FFT metering, phase and pan spectrum. ![]()
